Synopsis:
The "Lord of Saber" Ling Chuet Bik has two adopted sons. While he favors the elder son Fei Yeung and teaches him all his kung fu, he treats the other son Tin Sung like dirt, often abusing him. When Ling finds out that Tin Sung is secretly learning kung fu, he unsheathes his sword with intent to kill... Tin Sung escapes and is saved by a princess named Chai Suet (Esther Kwan), whose father passes on to him his supreme sword-fighting skills. Tin Sung eventually becomes a revered swordsman in the martial world, but can he beat Fei Yeung to the title of the "God of Sword"? A deadly duel between the brothers seems inevitable...

Hong Kong's ATV pulled some good viewership numbers in 1991 with the martial arts drama The God of Sword, which features fierce swordplay, captivating drama, and surprising plot twists. Producer Chan Tai Yuen, who was behind the well-received ATV drama The Blood Sword 2, lined up two of the station's most popular young actors, Eric Wan and Lo Chung Wah, in the roles of the feuding brothers as Fei Yeung and Tin Sung respectively. Esther Kwan plays Chai Suet, and Shaw Brothers star Lo Lieh is perfectly cast as the "Lord of Saber". Actresses Shirley Yim (a.k.a. Suet Lei), Candy Chiu, and Lau Kam Ling round out the main cast
